Canadians For Compassion - a finalist in the Wildcard category in THE BIG PITCH, and event of the Innoversity Creative Summit 2012 at the Bram & Bluma Appel Salon (Epic Room) at the Toronto Reference Library on May 8th and 9th.
Jannet Ann Leggett, founder of Canadians for Compassion and co-developer of the "Compassion" SUPER-app, will be pitching her trans-media vision to engage Canadians in becoming more compassionate in their daily lives and take leadership roles in making real and sustained change for the better whether it is in their family, their school, their business - and on a larger level - call up greater compassion in government, greater assist and support to First Nations communities, the environment, animal welfare and social justice initiatives.
Currently there are thirteen unique compassionate city campaigns underway in Canada. London Ontario's city council voted to become a compassionate city in 2011, the first in Canada and fourth in the world.
Canadians For Compassion is partnering with Erin Henry of Toronto who developed a Children's Charter for Compassion. The Children's Charter has been adopted by the International Charter for Compassion organization and is currently being translated into over 30 languages. With Canadians For Compassion, the Children's Charter is being adopted into school curriculum in Toronto and London schools, with adoption of the Children's Charter also occuring in Ireland and The Netherlands. Research has demonstrated that where the principles of compassion are taught in schools (as well as any environment) issues of bullying, racism and other 'isms' go away.
For THE BIG PITCH Canadians For Compassion is seeking production and funding partners to continue filming its documentary of the CompassionIAM Tour, "Conversations on the Road to Compassion" as well as increase the capabilities and user experience with the "Compassion" SUPER-App - available for free at iTunes Canada store.

About the Innoversity Creative Summit 2012 and THE BIG PITCH.
At every Innoversity Creative Summit, we bring together trendsetters, visionaries, people looking for a good idea to put into development, people who have those good ideas, and people who want to learn more - all in one place!
Founded in 2000 and launched in 2001, Innoversity's activities are designed to spark innovation in media, culture and other sectors. Reducing the distance between the "industry gatekeepers" and creative professionals from a wide diversity of backgrounds is one of the ways in which we continually spark creativity and innovation.
Innoversity provides its participants with real opportunities for breakthroughs - professional development, making connections, winning cash and development prizes.
Media executives get the chance to spot up and coming talent and trends, and make new connections. Creators get opportunities to 'show and tell' at one-to-one meetings with media executives, strengthen their ideas or projects at clinics and workshops run by industry experts, and get direct advice from Innoversity mentors to help boost careers and opportunities to win development and cash.
Hundreds of individuals praise Innoversity for facilitating the breakthroughs they needed - in their careers, concepts, collaborative partnerships and business strategies. Some write us to share their stories. We've heard the success stories on the street, on the phone, in bars, restaurants, festivals, or on the job. We are proud of it all.
We're also known for an environment of warmth and informality at ALL Innoversity events - right from the start. At the creative summit, we look out for anyone who is new to our events or looking a bit lost.
If you're working - or want to - in Broadcasting, Film, Interactive Media, Gaming and other forms of media, communications, entertainment or culture - or if you have a keen interest in media - come join us at the creative summit on May 8 and 9 at the Appel Salon in Toronto.
