Released November 8th, 2011

Mayor Dianne Watt's office recently reported that the presentation of this report, that provided background into the Canadian "compassionate city" campaign, Karen Armstrong and the Charter for Compassion, is the next step to bringing a resolution before city council to vote on whether to declare Surrey a "Compassionate City".

For more information on how to become a "Compassionate City" and the new guidelines for recognition by the International Institute of Compassionate Cities (IICC), go to: http://canadians4compassion.org/compassionatecitycampaigns and upload the documents from the IICC, or contact Canadians For Compassion at canadians4compassion@gmail.com.
